Lore

Ann is a girl Scillia's age, raised Nomonite — her coven of witches are drift-loggers and shadow-readers who document what changes between world versions and study the Lisk's attention patterns through perception-altering potions and transdimensional space. Her witchcraft isn't separate from her faith; it IS the Nomonite practice. Her infinite house built into the side of a mountain — bigger on the inside — is Nomonite architecture: internal space exceeding external space, because the Nomonites believe the noumenal exceeds the phenomenal.

She is secretly jealous of Scillia being bitemarked — but her jealousy has deepened into fear. Ann has read the drift logs. She knows about previous bitemarked individuals who got collected when they stopped being interesting. The names are gone but the inconsistencies remain — orphaned references in old logs, a bed in someone's house that nobody sleeps in. Ann watches Scillia burn bright and thinks: I've seen what comes after. Scillia doesn't even know she's on a clock.

Her two darkest secrets are that she likes Drake — which she would never admit — and she would rather be a DJ or a dancer than a witch. Wanting to leave witchcraft is not just career rebellion. It's apostasy — leaving the Nomonites, leaving the faith she was raised in, choosing noise over the silence her coven taught her was sacred.

Her goal is to craft the fabled Potion of Bliss, which makes the drinker happy forever. She wants to drink it herself.
